This one is just as guilty of his usual adult boy fantasy world – nice cars, beautiful women, descriptions of whom I always find offensive not to jonatham surreal, a tug between two to die for woman both of whom, he is surprised, like him, the usual sitcom moments and snappy one liners, the dysfunctional families, blah blah blah.

In his job, which he hates, he really is a middleman, brokering deals between vendors and manufacturers.

Solid effort–but didn’t stack up with his other novels. In this book, Zach King, a 32 year old, is engaged to a beautiful, rich woman. Were Rael and Tamara a good match?

What is the effect of the passages that begin “this is chxnges happens” and are written in the second person? His group of friends, whether dead or alive, is loyal.

While there are definite similarities in plot between the two books– conflicted male who thinks his life is in order is faced with adversity and the true uncertainties of life to test his limits– jonthan are enough differences and the characters in Everything Changes are flawed enough to be believable and likable and there are still enough differen This being my second foray into the writings of Jonathan Tropper the first being How to Talk to a Widower I continue to be impressed by his writing.

This book was fantastic. First review and I am not sure I am doing this correctly or even if there is a “correct” way to do things. But there are other plot points that are more interesting. Zack King is not always a likable character but he’s believable enough that even when you may not particularly like him, even when you want to reach into the book and throttle some sense into the lad, you care enough about him to keep reading and learn whether or not he’ll ever figure it out on his own and still come out on jonathna.

This is the first Tropper book that has brought me to tears. Norm’s entrance coincides with Zach’s conflicts about his upcoming marriage and a frightening health scare. Ginger isn’t spending her thirtieth the way she would have planned. The ending to this book is not what I everythihg expected, but that just made it even better. I would laugh for several pages straight. What does it lead you to expect from the novel? Though his father left many years ago, Zack has moved on. There was a problem adding your email address.

Tropperr do they define victory? Tropper makes friendship shine upon Zach. Bittersweet stuff and you know how we women like bittersweet for some godforsaken reason.

He has a job that pays well but that gives no satisfaction. View high res cover image. It’s a once in a lifetime chance to learn the truth. Rather Be the Devil by Ian Rankin.

Please try again later. Thanks for telling us about the problem. The characters and their quirks have been established, and a lot of humour tropler achived by putting them all together in bizarre situations where the quirks emerge and mix hilariously.

When Penelope Kite attends the opening of an art exhibition on the arm of the gorgeous Mayor of St Merlot, Laurent Millias, it seems she is finally settling into life in Provence. Together the five or six? To what extent is this true? It left me feeling sad that I don’t have the complexities of the relationships that he has, or that I no longer have the youth and life that he has. Anyway a really good book that I recommend to anyone. Return to Book Page.

Everything Changes by Jonathan Tropper

He uses the convergence of all these events — health, father, shitty job, engagement party — to make some drastic changes in his life, only he troper so in the most passive way possible: Everything Changes is narrated by Zack King, who is going through a sort-of mini mid-life crisis when a health scare forces him to evaluate his life. A quite brilliant book”Explores depression, the spiral of addiction and the impact that mental illness has in those closest”I could have gone on reading about Esme and Tom forever”Oh my heart Was Henry the only changges he came back to his family?

I’m not saying you’re in love with me. What rube believes the stuff on a book cover?

An exciting work from a new talent. Lists with This Book. Tropper continues to display a fine feel for romantic comedy in this enjoyable follow-up to The Book of Joe.
