It’s quite frustrati I’m not a serious reader. Gillian’s Mum, her daughter, her colleague. Unfortunately I found after having finished that this is a sequal to his novel Talking it Overwhich ampr the same format. Despite the armor of his dazzling wit, Oliver turns that sarcastic sword on himself, stabbing his most tender victim. This books is less about narrative and more about character and voice. After spending a decade in America as a successful businessman, Stuart returns juian London and decides to look up his ex-wife Gillian.
Where he was once considered plain, awkward, he is reborn confident and wealthy. When Stuart begins to suspect that he may be able to undo the results of their betrayal, he resolves to act. Each voice was distinctive and contributed in different ways at putting the puzzle together. Oct 22, Archit Ojha rated it it was amazing. I didn’t know until I finished read the book that their was a previous novel “talking it over” published inwith the same characters.
Placed in the role of confessor, we’re drawn into their desires and terrors, their petty attempts at one-upmanship, and their semi-transparent self-justification. Further suggestions might be found on the article’s talk page. Among the other two, Oliver is annoying, and Gillian remains pale. There are surprises in store, surprises for the characters and for the reader.
Does he love today’s Gillian or is he etceters thinking of the person he had fallen in love with all those years back?
In matters of love and friendship, how much can be endured? Things do get etceera of unreal for some parts in the book, especially when you compare it to the first part as some events seem incredulous, but can very well be believed.

Love, etc was written some ten years after Talking it Over and is set ten years later. Chivers Press; Waterville, Maine: Trivia About Love, Etc. There’s Gillian, who appears the most sensible but may well be the most calculating and manipulative. The chaos of desire drives these characters in ways they can’t control or even acknowledge.
